Law Firms

Schneider Legal Group has experience partnering with large national law firms and top regional and local law firms in searches for the most talented associates and partners. Whether a law firm is seeking a top producing partner in a particular practice group or a group of successful attorneys to merge with or to open a new office, SLG has the knowledge and experience to make it happen. SLG knows where to find the top attorney candidates and knows how to “sell” these candidates on you…our client.

Schneider Legal Group is recognized as a leader in the placement of associate attorneys. When a law firm works with SLG to find just the right associate, the firm can be confident that any candidates submitted by SLG will have top academics, excellent experience and the right personality for the firm’s culture. SLG is a true “head-hunting” recruiting firm. We find and identify the top associate attorneys in the particular practice areas whether or not they are actively seeking a new opportunity.

Companies

Schneider Legal Group works with very large Fortune 500 companies as well as mid-market and smaller businesses in order to find attorneys that are talented and capable and problem solvers who understand both the legal and business issues. In today’s challenging business environment, in-house counsel must be able to understand the business goals, be able to relate to senior management and understand the sophisticated legal subtleties. The in-house counsel of today must be nimble…moving back and forth from dealing with labor and employment issues, social media issues and securities. SLG is experienced in finding these talented lawyers and in presenting to it’s corporate clients a top-notch slate of candidates.

Fees

Schneider Legal Group works for it’s clients on either a contingency fee basis or a combination of retainer and contingency. For most Associates, our fee is contingent on the successful placement of the associate and amounts to a percentage of the associate’s first year salary. Our contingent fees are competitive with the market. If a client uses us on an exclusive basis on a specific contingency search, we are able to provide a discounted fee schedule.

SLG recommends that if a client has a very targeted partner and/or group search they contract with us on the basis of a combination of retainer and contingency. The amount of the retainer is a portion of the projected fee for a successful search and placement. The amount of the retainer is subtracted from the total fee after the placement is made. A retained search is a commitment from both the law firm and SLG that both parties have “skin in the game”. A retained search sends a strong message to candidates and the legal community that the law firm is serious about the search. A retained search means that SLG will devote all resources necessary to find the best candidate and/or group of candidates in the least amount of time.

Fees for high level in-house counsel searches are based on the hybrid “container” model. A non-refundable retainer is required at the beginning of the search in the amount of a portion of what the fee will be for a successful placement. The retainer is deducted from the final fee amount.
